About the Speaker
Hugh Seaton is a Stamford native who started his career at a steel factory in southern Taiwan, spent 20 years in advertising, and began his first business in Shanghai in 2010. Since returning to the US in 2012, Hugh has founded and led hackathons, conferences and meetups in New York, San Francisco, Toronto and Boston, all while founding and running Aquinas Learning, a software company focused on applying AI to learning. In 2019, Hugh sold the VR/AR part of Aquinas to the Glimpse Group, where he is currently GM of Adept Reality, a corporate training software division. Hugh got his undergrad at Miami of Ohio, and MBA at Columbia Business School/London Business School.

David Noble will lead a discussion into what it means to build an entrepreneurial team and how to actually go about it. Moving from Founding Team to initial employees to advisors in a manner that allows the inexperienced entrepreneur to begin to take action.
David was appointed the inaugural Director of the Werth Institute in January 2018, and previously he served as the co-director of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Consortium and the Xcite: Women in Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship Conference. As a faculty member in the School of Business, he teaches courses on technology innovation and entrepreneurship. David is an active mentor at UConn, and has recently founded Zatoichi Co., a blockchain based startup.
Prior to UConn, David was a securities and corporate finance attorney, with experience representing startups from formation through the IPO process. He has extensive non-profit board experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Alabama, a J.D. from the University of Miami, a M.B.A. from the Elon University, and B.S. in Political Science from Northeastern University.

In this discussion, you will learn about why customer-centric companies outperform their peers, and how Pitney Bowes is using customer journey mapping and other design thinking methods to make improvements for their customers and their employees.
Wara Saifi, Director of Client Experience (CX) leads the enterprise CX strategy at Pitney Bowes, and has over 19 years’ experience helping organizations transform how they operate.
Since joining Pitney Bowes in 2017, Wara has developed a CX strategy, in collaboration with senior executives, which uses customer-centric methods to improve the customer experience and drive better business outcomes. Wara leads a CX Centre of Excellence which:
• Developed and drives the CX Vision and enterprise strategy, and drives an integrated measurement and governance model.
• Defined key organizational capabilities, which are essential for delivering great client experiences, and has been maturing these over time.
• Scaling Client Journey Mapping and other Design Thinking practices throughout the organization in order to create great experiences for clients and facilitate transformation, behavior change and business outcomes.
Prior to joining Pitney Bowes, Wara led the Enterprise Customer Experience team and held various senior roles in Finance at TD Bank Group, and was part of the Assurance and Consulting practices at Deloitte. Wara is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, Canada, and is a LUMA Institute Certified Practitioner of Human-Centered Design.
