UConnâs first ever Women in Making Forum seeks to highlight the successes of challenges of the women of the maker movement. We will identify barriers to entry and discuss best practices to navigate these barriers in a panel discussion. There will be speakers on inclusivity, gender bias, and the history of women in making. Additionally, we will host skill-building workshops which celebrate crafting, mending, and repurposing as traditionally feminist self-reliant practices and the origin of the maker movement. All are welcome.

In partnership with Nerac, Inc., First Year Programs & Learning Communities invites students to attend XcellR8 meetings, where they will be able to talk and network with Nerac's XcellR8 members and UConn faculty and staff - a very special opportunity.
XcellR8 events connect innovative entrepreneurs with knowledgeable experts and angel investors in meetings where the entrepreneurs pitch their ideas or where they are in developing a start-up company so the audience can brainstorm strategies, provide feedback and share ideas.
UConn signup and more information about each meeting will be available closer to the dates.
